Not exactly a blog, ManageWP.org (remember, it’s the .org extension, not .net or .com) is an aggregator of the best WordPress articles that have been published recently. Community submitted and voted on, the best articles tend to make their way to the top across all sorts of different categories. ManageWP is a great way to find some of the best WordPress blogs that you’ve never heard of. They may not be the millions-of-hits-per-day blogs all the time, but if you see it here, it’s generally going to have amazing information.

If you’ve noticed a trend of managed WordPress hosts having great blogs, it’s because they generally do. Not only is it a great way to give back to their community, but it also helps attract people to their products. Flywheel is managed WP hosting aimed at designers, so their blog, The Layout, targets that same demo. Many of their articles are design best practices, tips to enhance the look and function of your WordPress site, and so on. But they also publish general WordPress tips, too, and a lot are on the technical side but broken down so that non-techies and right-brained people can make heads or tails of them.

Creating a blog in wordpress is a mistake. I’ve been creating blogs on different platforms for many years, and wordpress has a “community of guardians” who are dedicated to eliminating free blogs indiscriminately. If you put a single link in a free wordpress blog they tell you that you are redirecting traffic and that you violate the rules. Therefore, to make a free blog in wordpress implies that at any moment they eliminate you without giving you the opportunity to defend yourself and losing all the time and work done.

In most cases AdSense integration will skip this step and start with Step 2 when only authorization code needs to be entered (described below). You will have to go through Step 1 only when using own Google API IDs. If you have decided to use own IDs and would like to go back using default IDs click on the button Use default API IDs and you’ll be able to skip this step.

Let’s first check whether the code is inserted where we expect it. When you are logged in as administrator you’ll see admin toolbar above every post or page and there should be Ad Inserter menu item with debugging functions to diagnose common issues. Go to any post where the ads should be displayed and click on Ad Inserter / Label Blocks in admin toolbar.
Writing is an art and you must develop and improve as you progress in it, your expressions get more accurate, up to the mark, meaningful and according to your topic and readers. Even after publishing my blog posts, I review them later and if notice something to be better than written already, I modify and repair it with a better version of it. It’s so important to proofread, review, and fix errors, but so many publishers fail to do it either because they’re careless or they just don’t think it’s necessary. we must learn as much as we can about the precise use of language, grammar and its rules we are writing in.
I’ve read a great deal (most from you, but others too) and one thing (I think) that I want to do is divide my site into two or three parts with distinctly different content (i.e. blog, autobiographical anecdotes, literary letters to my heirs, etc.) First I guess — is this a good idea or a really bad one? Second, how do I do that on one site or should I try to juggle multiples? Thanks!
Thank you for your reply 🙂 I am certainly willing to make the switch to .org and self-hosting, but I am not sure how to go about self-hosting. I purchase my domain name (ashlimontgomery.com) from DirectNic which might have a hosting option. And that’s about the extent of my knowledge or understanding of self-hosting. Where do I go to begin that process? If I get that figured out, which themes would you recommend for me? I really would like to take my blogging a step up, and I know that a really professional look that puts the content into a more user-friendly format is important to achieve that goal.

However, the exact placement of ads will be done by the ad code, not Ad Inserter! AdSense is the best ad network for bloggers, and I have already shared a guide on How to create an AdSense account. For existing users, adding AdSense code in a blog is not a task, but if I recall my earlier days, I was not sure how to use AdSense dashboard, and how to add it on my blog. When it comes to WordPress, there are many plugins like Whytodowork AdSense, Quick AdSense, which will let you quickly integrate ads at your desire position. To be honest, I find plugins are easier to do things on WordPress over manual Work. Until, unless you know PHP, and understand WordPress theme structure.
Moreover, with advanced theme options will have you churning your own customized pages, layouts and color schemes within seconds of installation. Furthermore, the Voyager knows how important your visual content is, which is why your pictures get the spotlight across all posts, displayed in fully Retina-ready glory. Also, material design philosophy served as the backbone of this theme and made it very responsive.

It may sound complicated, but the entire process takes about 5 minutes. And once installed, it enables you to use a simple, web-based editor to publish content and build your website.
