Have just set up site using WP 4.9 / Bluehost. Looking for a blog theme that has maximum font / colour and formatting options, will support pics, has multiple gallery options, supports sound (very important) and video. Also want it to be advertisement-ready. Major problem I’m having is that I want to collect and collate opinions and stories from readers; their ideas and responses to numerous topics. Ideally 3 at once featured on a static home page. I don’t know if there’s an additional plug in I’d need to be able to do such a thing, or whether some of these themes listed have decent widgets I could use for this purpose? I have some experience using website back-ends but no coding knowledge. Thanks.
Thank you for all the info! This site is exactly what I have been looking for to help start my Blog or website. Ultimately, I would like to monetize my site but I’m not sure if I should start with a Blog or Website first. My understanding is all Blogs are websites but not all websites are Blogs. I assume if I follow your set up steps for a Blog, I can start with that and add or link the other when and if necessary? For the most flexibility and opportunity would you start with a Blog or a website or both simultaneously? My ideas involve home design, and decorating.

GoBlog is a responsive WordPress theme with a minimalist layout design. Also, this theme has a versatile framework and provides functional features to help you modify the basic elements of your blog or website effortlessly. Additionally, you can easily change the header and homepage layouts using the theme’s control panel. The creators also designed this theme to perform smoothly on any handheld devices. Moreover, it is translation ready to help you reach a wider range of audience.
I’d like also to incorporate a feature to facilitate access to Google Translate — possibly by linked “button” to open it in a new tab, although the ideal would allow highlighting of text, selection of the translator button, automatic copying of text into the translator app, auto-selection of target language as that of the column in which it is highlighted, and display of the translation in a sub-window that could be dismissed by clicking elsewhere on the page. I imagine it would be simpler if the reader were required to highlight and copy the text manually to paste it into the translation-app tab, and use its native features to select the target language. One use of this feature would be to translate terms or phrases from other languages that are embedded within the text of one of the two primary-language columns.

As you might expect, Google AdSense isn’t the only game in town. Platforms such as AdBrite are oft-mentioned alternatives, and they’ll usually have less restrictions on the ads that are placed (which could be a double-edged sword). Likewise, providers such as Clicksor have even less restrictive policies, which enables business dealing in more mature themes to monetize their websites.

Your knowledge on blogging is amazing and sharing these tutorials is wonderful. I have never blogged before but always had an interest even though I am very nervous. To be honest, I am 49 years old and have no clue how to start my intro with two different categories to talk about. First one is about my photographs I have gathered and the second one is about motivating a healthy lifestyle on eating, fitness, and positive outlook. Not sure if I can combine the two or keep it separate and need two different domains. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Each theme developer has a different support system in place. Some has public support forums, some private ones, some does email support or combination of all. Support forum is one of the best solutions because you can search for solutions on your own and in most cases you won’t even need to ask a question as it might be already answered for you. Therefore, you would save a lot of time waiting for support team to respond on your request.

Affected publishers received an email with information on how to display ads without the plugin. Google recommends deactivating and removing the plugin, followed by using the QuickStart option or creating and placing ad units by inserting the ad code into text widgets. Those who are manually placing ads using widgets will need to make sure they comply with Google’s detailed ad placement policies.
Creating a blog in wordpress is a mistake. I’ve been creating blogs on different platforms for many years, and wordpress has a “community of guardians” who are dedicated to eliminating free blogs indiscriminately. If you put a single link in a free wordpress blog they tell you that you are redirecting traffic and that you violate the rules. Therefore, to make a free blog in wordpress implies that at any moment they eliminate you without giving you the opportunity to defend yourself and losing all the time and work done.

You know who understands WordPress? Managed WordPress hosts. That’s just what Pagely is. But their blog isn’t self-promotion at all — it’s a valued resource covering business skills for professionals using WP to make their livings, designers, and more. Their marketing articles touch on topics that many of the best WordPress blogs don’t, so they hit on pressure points you may not even know you need to be pressed. Even their posts on managed WP hosting aren’t tied specifically to them and can be applied to multiple other hosts. All in all, Pagely’s blog is worth a read.
If you’re looking for the hottest and latest WordPress news, articles, hacks and plugin reviews just to mention a few, you want to add WP Mayor to your reading list. Like right now. WP Mayor is maintained by Mr. and Mrs. Jean Galea with the help of Mark Zahra, who happens to be Galea’s cousin. This family business features a couple of contributors from all walks of life, giving the content a global (multi-cultural) feel.
